As longtime readers know, I used to play death metal - perform and compose it in a band - back when it was just called "death metal" and nothing else. One of the tenets of that genre back then was basically "function over fashion" - that is to say, it is better to sound good than to look good. But regardless of the genre or style you play, there has to be a bit of performance - a bit of showmanship.
Check out this traveler guitar for instance. I mean, that is kind of a show in and of itself! I have no idea why it should be shaped that way but there it is. If anyone knows, I would love to find out.
