RIP Marilyn Burns

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Marilyn Burns' death at age 65 today. Burns is best known for her turn as the "Survivor Girl" lead in the classic horror film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Following that star turn, she appeared in a number of other horror B-raters as well as a handful of more "reputable" films.

Burns was found dead in her Houston home earlier today.

Our condolences to her friends and family.

As huge fans of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre film, Marilyn Burns' image appears throughout our website.

We're not getting into the legal ramifications of these things but, suffice it to say, these images are literally homages - nods to the things that interested us enough to pursue this endeavor(s).

We do not attempt to exploit her image without due compensation in an attempt to attract viewers under the pretense that she has anything to do with The Weirding or attempt some kind of "bait and switch" maneuvers.

We've been fans of TCM and her performance for many years and are honored to include her image and performance as gratitude. The inclusion of these images is meant to convey to viewers that we have an appreciation for the same fanfare they do.

We do not, have never, and will not ever take advantage of another person's image for promotional purposes where that purpose is to unjustly enrich ourselves financially at their expense.
