X-Files Returns to the Small Screen

Following the successful revival of the show 24 under the format, FOX has announced that The X-Files will return to TV in a six-episode mini-series. Also returning are original writer and series creator, Chris Carter, and Duchovny and Anderson will both reprise their roles as well.

The bad taste of a flopped 2008 movie out of their mouths, the team will attempt to recreate the drama, suspense, and joy fans felt when watching the original series.

Both Duchovny and Anderson have roles on other TV shows next season and nothing has been said of making The X-Files an open-ended (regular) TV series.
