Paris Ordered Back to Court

What have I said? Never a slow news day thanks to one Miss Paris Hilton.

In new developments, the judge who originally presided over her case has ordered she show up in court tomorrow morning (Friday, June 8th) at 9:00 AM. Apparently, the City Attorney petitioned the court to have her come back in. A sheriff's car is to pick her up at her home and bring her to court.

Originally, the judge had ruled that she could not do her time at home by electronic surveillance; he specifically stated that Paris Hilton must serve her sentence in jail. But the judge said today that it's the sheriff, not the judge, who decides when prisoners are released. The city attorney said that he learned of Hilton's release the same way we all did: on the news.

County Supervisor, Don Knaebe, told the AP that he had received over 400 angry e-mails and phonecalls from across the country. The judge supposedly reminded the sheriff of the sentencing and did not agree with the sheriff's early release, even before the city attorney petitioned him to return Paris to court.

Here's the rub, though: there's no way they can send her back now - she'll be killed! It was bad enough that when the inmates found out who she was, they began chanting her name and selling information on her condition to the yellow press; once they find out she's been released and sent back in, they're definitely going to put her at the top of a very short list.

This is just a debacle.
