Dark Horse is reviving famed horror anthology, Creepy. Originally published by Warren, Creepy was a black and white, magazine-style anthology of horror tales without the Comics Code. It started back in 1964, almost a generation after EC Comics and other comics publishers lost their horror titles to Conservative pressure, and cinematic monsters were pop-culture fluff.
Short stories of darkness and despair - and mostly murder - have proven popular in the comics field time and again over the years (the most recent of which, that I am familiar with, being IDW's Doomed), and they are often done in magazine format, largely thanks to Creepy's influence. Dark Horse is bringing it back in a 48-page comic format, after reprinting many of the magazines in hardcover.
Creepy Comics #1 premieres this Wednesday, with a panel signing the following week at Comic-Con, which includes Berni Wrightson! The cover price is $4.99.

Wrightson & Niles' City of Others Collected
I hate that my comics company doesn't have one of those options where you can choose a creator and get all their titles, because City of Others flew right under my radar. Luckily, Dark Horse is collecting them all into a TPB for those of us who missed this horror outing by two of Comicdom's greatest masters of the genre. This is an official Dark Horse press release:

Wrightson Animation Premiering at Comic-Con!
I can’t imagine a comics fan that does not know Berni Wrightson’s work. A true master of the field, his work has graced such classics as Marvel’s Frankenstein and Stephen King’s Creepshow, among many, many others. Wrightson was a Warren Magazine staple and one of the true auteurs of the horror genre.
Tomorrow night in room 6B, Wrightson’s first animated work will premiere. Wrightson was consigned to rework character designs for the new Biker Mice from Mars animated movie. The studio which is doing this, Gang of Seven Animation, has also done an adaptation of Wrightson’s Freak Show, a few moments of which will also be shown at this same time.
