When I was a kid, Waldenbooks had a section dedicated to RPGs, as well as a relatively new format for sequential art, called graphic novels. One set in particular stood out from the rest: the ElfQuest series by Richard and Wendy Pini.
Originally released in black and white by WaRP Graphics and later reprinted in color by Epic, the first four graphic novels collected the entire run (to that point). When I finally got the first one, I had to have the rest! Those books still hold a special fascination for me and I break them out every few years to reread them.
Now, Dark Horse has struck a deal with the Pinis to release busts of the main characters, Cutter, Leetah, and Skywise. Each will be limited to 1500 pieces and numbered. Busts stand 5.5" tall and are on a swivel base so you can position them specifically to your tastes. The price is $49.99, but with such a limited run, Dark Horse warns that allocation may occur, so you should expect to pay more than that if you really want one. Sculptures were created by Tim Bruckner and each piece is handpainted. They should hit shelves in November.
If you've never experienced the ElfQuest world, you really owe it to yourself to check it out. This is a true classic of the comic book industry, doubly so since it was originally self-published by the Pinis. Many new adventures have been released since those first four collections, but I have not seen any of the new ones. I can safely - and highly - recommend the first four graphic novels.
And these busts look great!
