I tried and tried to get into Battlestar Galactica, but it just wasn't happening. I'm just not a big fan of "serious" drama - especially not if it involves a particularly long leap of faith to get to that Suspension of Disbelief. Life is not always a tragedy, nor is it always a comedy; there are instances of both in all peoples' lives. Shows like Battlestar Galactica do not have instances of both; this was a straightforward drama which went the extra step of refusing to include the audience (a nerd specialty to separate the die-hard fans from the "n00bs").
Producers have said that the fourth season will be Battlestar Galactica's last. There will be a Q&A with the cast in LA on June 6th.
Just so we're keeping score, I also didn't like Star Trek (any of them), haven't seen (and have no intentions of seeing) the last two Star Wars films (the "second" and "third," respectfully; the fifth and sixth, respectively), and put down the LotR books not once but twice.
If it takes you 20 pages to describe a door, you are not a good writer.
