FINALLY! Some Brit-Brit news!

How long has it been since we last had a Britney story? A while. Sadly Shockingly, this is not a naughty news item; no, this is a good one. Britney Spears will reprise her role on CBS' How I Met Your Mother May 12^th. Her first appearance as a nurse drew almost 1 million more viewers than normal and producers had always said that if her character "popped" they were open to a reprisal.

Reports of said reprisal began circulating almost immediately following her first episode, but then it was said that lil Miss Spears demanded script approval. This was shocking because no one knew Britney could read. There was also a minor media flare-up when show star, Neil Patrick Harris, made remarks suggesting he did not care for Britney Spears' return.

Harris later explained that he had nothing against Britney Spears, but he was against "star-casting" - e.g., casting celebrities simply to boost ratings. However, I have often said that Britney would most likely find her career as an actress - I specifically said I thought she had a career as a sit-com actress; I based this on her star-casting turn in an episode of Will & Grace.

For a chick who can't sing, Britney Spears has really great comedic timing.
