International music sensation, Ricky Martin, revealed his homosexuality to the world via a post on his website earlier today. Martin's sexual preference has been the butt of many jokes over the years - most of which are better than that one - so his announcement ends years of speculation by... well, every, living thing in the known universe.
Martin, who initially rose to fame as a member of the international boy-band, Menudo, said revealing his sexuality to his fans, "...fills me with strength and courage. Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment."
Martin is a Grammy-award winning singer whose first English single, Living la vida Loca, climbed to #1 on music charts around the world - including the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Japan, Mexico, and many, many more. Ricky Martin has sold over 60 million albums worldwide; played the lead in Les Miserables on Broadway; landed a recurring role on daytime soap opera, General Hospital; started his own non-profit organization to benefit efforts to end child trafficking, as well as other charitable efforts; and has been named one of the most beautiful people in the world by People magazine - twice!
And Ricky Martin is gay.
