Previews Catalog from Diamond & Dave Cockrum Tribute
Diamond Comics, the largest comic book distributor (maybe the only one now -- I think Bud Plant pulled out of the distribution game sometime back, but I'm not sure) is now publishing a monthly catalog called Previews. This 500+ page catalog doesn't just list comic books, but statues, posters, games, DVDs, and much more. I am calling their toll-free number shortly to find out how much it is and all of that (it is not listed by my advance order service yet, whom I also have to call today) and I'll post a Comment to this later today to let you know what I find out, but you can check it out online too.
In further comics news, a posthumous hardcover collection of Dave Cockrum's work is in the making, helmed by Clifford Meth. It will include art tributes by some of the biggest names in the industry, including Neal Adams, Sergio Aragones, Alan Davis, John Romita, Sr., Joe Kubert, Jim Lee, Dave Sim, and many more.
Written tributes will include material by Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Chris Claremont, Stan Lee, and more. The book will also include 25 pages of never before seen work by Cockrum and "220 copies of the book will have unique, original Dave Cockrum sketches bound into the volume," according to Meth (what an unfortunate name, no?).
The Uncanny Dave Cockrum Hardcover will be released by Aardwolf Publishing later this year.
