Submarine & Grand Canal Acquire Warren Properties
Some older hands probably remember the Warren brand. I remember a few of them: there was a Warren magazine and one called Creepy. The only reason I know those is because I have some of the issues featuring Berni Wrightson, but the rest were well before my time.
Inspired by the EC comics of yesteryear, Warren magazines were mainstays on the newsstands in the '60s and '70s and now, Submarine and Grand Canal Filmworks have acquired the properties and merged into a new division, called New Comic Company, which will handle licensing and so on concerning the Warren properties.
The original magazines included such talent as the aforementioned Wrightson, Frank Frazetta, Neal Adams, Rich Corben, Archie Goodwin (Epic), and more. Word from the camp is to rejuvenate the brand across multiple mediums.
