I wish I'd seen this before Sunday, but for whatever reason I didn't. I'm inclined to believe it didn't arrive until earlier today because I certainly checked this mailbox before the weekend was through and it has a postmark date of the 20th. It may have gotten held-up along the WWW or someone may just have forgotten to send it (or send it correctly). But, again, the fault may very well lie with me. Still, I'm almost positive it didn't arrive on the 20th.
Heavy Metal sent an e-mail informing us that legendary cartoonist, Vaughn Bode's, granddaughter was on Prairie Home Companion this weekend, playing with her band, The Sweetback Sisters. They performed in the PITTS (People In Their Twenties Talent Show) and there is some kind of voting system.
I love Prairie Home Companion and have since I first discovered it in highschool. It was also the first movie I ordered on my PPV stations here in the new place (not so new anymore; I've been here a year now)... well, it was among the first. Anyway, great show, great movie (Robert Altman's last, in fact), and tons of fun to listen to. I can't speak for the Sweetback Sisters because I can't get NPR here for no good reason. It is nothing but static, when it manages to come in at all. Still, long-time fans of Bode's will likely want to vote for the Sweetback Sisters out of loyalty, if nothing else, and everyone should get a kick out of Prairie Home Companion.
While I'm here, Heavy Metal also has calendars at 50% off ($6.50 each) this week!
