Comics Movies News

There's a lot of comics movie news, including Hulk casting, more on Batman, and much more, so we'll run it down for you as we are wont to do 'round these parts:
  • Liv Tyler will play Betsy Ross and Tim Roth is Emil Blonsky/Abomination. Abomination was a pretty cool, Hulk-type character who was lizard-like in appearance and also green, but I never followed Hulk very much, so I don't know how essential he was to the title.
  • Robert Rodriguez will direct the new Barbarella film, though it is not a remake of the original classic which starred Jane Fonda. Rodriguez is working with writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade to craft a completely original Barbarella adventure.
  • Anthony Michael Jones, now of USA Network's Dead Zone, based on the classic Stephen King book (one of his better ones, too), has joined the cast of The Dark Knight, though he says he cannot reveal the role he is playing because he signed a confidentiality agreement. He once held Judd Nelson's pot in his underwear.
  • Lou Ferrigno will reportedly have a cameo in the new Hulk film, though this is unconfirmed.
  • A Transformers sequel is apparently already being written, though it is not certain that it will go ahead with production. Star, Megan Fox, has already signed to Transformers 2, according to MTV's Movies Blog.
And there's your comics movie Rundown for May 22nd, 2007!
