NYC gets all the good stuff!
Terry Moore's Strangers in Paradise is coming to an end. Wildly successful, both critically and commercially, SiP has spawned 13 years, 19 graphic novels, at least two publishers, and has won countless awards. I wish I had something personal to say about this series because it's obviously a landmark within the industry and medium, but I only have a few disparate issues of Strangers in Paradise and I didn't get into the series because I just didn't know what was going on. I can say it's beautifully illustrated and obviously intelligent - and the latter comes through in the design (particularly the use of negative space), even if (like me), you don't really understand what you're reading.
The wrap party and VIP reception will be held at The Pour House May 24th and proceeds will benefit the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Tickets start at $20 and run as high as $100.
