Brian Williams on SNL

Ha! Did you catch NBC anchorman, Brian Williams, on Saturday Night Live tonight? He was really good!

I have always said that people who can’t act are just too self-involved to allow themselves to let go of their own self-image and, given his position, I really didn’t know what to expect. In fact, I’m still a little bemused as to whether he was really as good as I thought he was or if I was just kind of shocked by his exceeding my expectations.

But no, he was good. And, for the first time in quite a long time, so was SNL.

Oh, and don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour before you go to bed (or at 2 AM, if you happen to be up)!

Poor SNL! I can only imagine what this writers' strike is going to do to them... it had some real promising guests and starts this season, but just hasn't taken off like it should have.

I'd say that Tina Fey's departure (along with several other writers) is what did it, but let's be honest, SNL hits a high-point about once every 2-3 years: they get a cast that gels and it's good for about a season or two (maybe three), then it goes back to the mundane shit it's been most of this year, and just cycles on like that.

Has for 30 years...
