Doctor Who's First Producer Dead

Verity Lambert, the first female TV producer at BBC, as well as the first producer of the longest-running sci-fi series of all time, Doctor Who, died Thursday. Her death came one day before the 44th anniversary of the very first Doctor Who episode. She was also due to receive an award from the Women in Film and Television Awards next month.

Ms. Lambert was 71. She produced the famous Doctor Who series from 1963 through 1965. 20 years later, she started her own TV production company and made several more series throughout her career.

I have literally just learned about Verity Lambert as I have learned about her passing. She left a large legacy because so many people enjoy what she greatly contributed too even if they do not know her name. Thanks for posting about her.

Peace,

James
