TV/Movie Rundown

I effing hate getting scooped - loathe it! Despise it. Abhor it. And get a thesaurus and look up "hate" and all those, too. So, in response to a growing number of fellow bloggers hopping on my little bandwagon, I decided to go ahead and shovel-out one of our old-fashioned Rundowns, originally made popular by that legend of screen and porcelain, the great... whatever her name is.

Remember, if you experience chafing with The Rundown, remove immediately and contact a doctor:
  • Marley Shelton, star of the Grindhouse movies, is on-board for a CBS sci-fi series. The Eleventh Hour is based on the BBC mini-series of the same name. Patrick Stewart (Star Trek) and Ashley Jensen (Ugly Betty) appeared in the original.
  • NBC's Quarterlife, originally an Internet-based series of 8-minute webisodes, is probably moving to Bravo. The show's debut didn't just "tank" in the ratings, it blew the bottom out of them; Quarterlife commanded the lowest ratings for that primetime slot in 17 years of NBC history!
  • VH1 has greenlighted seven new reality series featuring celebrities(?), including Margaret Cho and Luke Campbell, former pornographic "rapper" turned pornographer.
  • Dinah and Ali Lohan are set to appear in their own reality show on E!
  • Lionel Richie told Ryan Seacrest that he is going to produce the cover of his hit single, Hello, as sung by the contestant, David Cook, on American Idol.
  • Roger Moore, who portrayed Simon Templar in the 1960's British series, is producing a new version of The Saint. The pilot will be filmed and shopped to networks. TNT originally wanted the project, then passed.
  • Stable mother, Britney Spears, will guest-star in an episode of How I Met Your Mother, likely to air March 24th. A judge allowed her a $1500/week allowance from her business profits, apparently set-up as a separate entity.
  • South Park returns tomorrow night (Wednesday, March 12th) with a new season.
  • Futurama returns March 23rd with brand-new episodes.
  • Hulu.com, a joint-venture between NBC Universal and News Corp debuts tomorrow, with ad-supported TV shows and movies.
  • Dawn Wells, Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island, was sentenced to six months unsupervised probation for smoking the mari-joo-wanna.
  • Valiant Comics' Harbinger has been acquired by Paramount, with X-Men director, Brett Ratner, attached to the project as producer and director.
So neeyeah.
