DC greenlighted the new Green Lantern movie and hopes to start shooting next spring. As of now, there is a script, but no director or stars.
Hot off the soaring success of The Dark Knight, DC is hoping t make a franchise of the Green Lantern series, which features corps of heroes. Green Lantern has come in many forms, including Guy Gardener and Hal Jordan (the original). Not only is there a possibility for a good franchise, but several stars to fill the role.
