Corey Haim died of pneumonia; while trace amounts of prescription drugs were found in his system, they were not at a level high enough to have caused death, according to the cornoer's report. While the District Attorney found that Haim had been "doctor-shopping" to obtain prescription drugs, including the powerful painkiller, Oxycontin, no Oxycontin was found in his system. The coroner could not say whether or not earlier treatment for pneumonia would have saved the doomed actor, who had battled drug abuse for most of his adult life.
Corey Haim died in March, aged 38.
