Stan "The Man" Lee spoke to the San Francisco Chronicle this Sunday about the many characters he created for the Marvel Universe. As many of us know, these characters are very different from their DC, and other companies', counterparts - they are usually deeper, more complex, and have more earthbound, science-based origins - and Lee says this was intentional. He set out specifically to create superheroes who were different, not only from other superhero characters, but everyone. This is their strength: "The thing I had in mind was to make it a story against bigotry of all sorts, because here were people who were certainly different than everybody else, but they were good, they were trying to do the right thing," Lee said.
Rob Zombie won a Chainsaw Award for his flick, The Devil's Rejects, from Fangoria and Fuse Television. The awards ceremony will be broadcast on Fuse on October 22nd. I was going to blog about Spike TV's Scream Awards, which aired on my birthday, but I tried to watch it and it was effing boring. I did not watch it and haven't heard anyone else say anything about it, so I'm assuming it blew chunks.
