The Rundown, 09-02-07

It may or may not be a busy day today. I am actually working fairly diligently on getting the site up and ready for the switch-over which should occur in the next two weeks. Again, this shouldn't really affect any end-users, but if you start getting a bunch of 404 (Page Not Found) errors when trying to access the site, I will give you the new IP Address and you can surf over there by that, then update your bookmarks. I have another post about this coming up shortly.

I have some cool news to get out to you - some of it a bit dated by now, I admit - but a lot of it is just hit-and-run, so I figured I'd do one of our signature Rundowns to start things off:

Oh, and remember: the bank don't sell liquor and The Rundown don't cash checks.
  • D&D creator and gaming guru, Gary Gygax, guest-stars on Wednesday's new episode of Code Monkeys on G4. Code Monkeys airs at 8:00 PM, CST.
  • According to members of the Herbert family, a new Dune film is in the planning stages.
  • Corey Feldman says the Goonies sequel may be animated.
  • A Buzzboy tribute poster by the late Mike Wieringo will be given out for free at the Baltimore Comic-Con.
  • Sci-Fi is showing a Dead Like Me marathon all day tomorrow.
  • Rumor has it that Shia LaBeouf may play the title role in DJ Caruso's adaptation of Y: The Last Man.
  • Zach Snyder has signed-on to do a remake of Ray Bradbury's Illustrated Man.
  • Heavy Metal, Last Gasp, and Comic Relief are sponsoring an original artwork display in Berkley, California, featuring Jack Kirby, Moebius, Robert Williams, Olivia, B.K. Kliban, Paul Mavrides, S. Clay Wilson, Hal Robins, Vaughn and Mark Bode, Peter Max, Larry Todd, Craig Farley, Jeff Jones, Margaret Keane, Ron English, Guy Colwell, Richard Corben, Rick Griffin, KC Angel, and Greg Irons. The show starts September 15th and you can find out more here.
  • The new Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood, premieres on BBCA this Saturday at 8:00 PM, CST.
  • The 2-hour season finale of Sci-Fi's Who Wants to be a Superhero? is this Thursday.
  • BBCA is showing a marathon of Doctor Who all weekend.
And that there is The Rundown for September 2nd, 2007. There may be more on the way this very day.
