Hey guys, I know there have been a lot of technical posts lately and most of them have been said time and again, but you are about to see why.
I have decided to go ahead and try the new template tonight. I have to hold-off on the domain move just until tomorrow, due to sponsor concerns. Again, you will still be able to access all posts via this URL (it will simply redirect you to the new one), but once we do make the move, I would appreciate it if you would go ahead and update your bookmarks.
The whole Goober PR Smackdown significantly hurt our numbers, but (knock wood), they have managed to climb back up all on their own - just like I said they would; I told you: content is king online - and The Rundown's got the goods, kids. Still, while you will be redirected, a lot of people still surfing to this old URL can't really help us rise back up through the ranks to our previous standing, especially since it will take a few months for all the old URLs to flush out of the engines and old bookmarks and URLs to update. Actually, many of them will never update, simply because there are so many of them that it just isn't possible for me to manually do that and there is no way to automate the process.
Anyway, as I discussed last night, the new layout and overall design is intended to better integrate The Rundown into The Weirding, along with all of the other blogs. It is also going to introduce new functions and resources and make them, and the content contained herein, easier to locate and access.
I really think (hope) you are going to like it, but it is a major undertaking, so I fully expect things to be a little bumpy until I tweak it out. As I said before, I am going to wait until late-night to do it so I don't interrupt your browsing, but those of you on the West Coast are probably going to experience some difficulties, because it is already 8:30 PM here.
Please, just bear with me and I'll try to make it as painless as possible. And while I know things have been rather slow around here lately, I would really appreciate some input once the new design is in place to let me know how I am doing and what you think - what you like, don't like, would like to see, suggestions, etc.
Thanks!
