The Child's Play movie franchise is set to be relaunched in 2010 with a remake and widescreen, "special" release of the original flick.
I can't imagine anyone is not familiar with the movies, but the original features decent acting and SFX (even if it cheated on most of the kill scenes). The sequels ramped-up the camp and ran the franchise into the ground (as did Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and basically every strong 1980s' horror franchise). Child's Play featured a serial killer who used VooDoo to transfer his soul into that of a talking doll named Chucky (soul transference is pretty much de rigeur for the evil doll sub-genre).
