Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, the director behind such hits as Hellboy, has been tapped by Universal for several remakes.
His films will include remakes of Frankenstein and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, as well as Tarzan and an adaptation of Dicken's final novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. In addition to these, del Toro is connected with a Slaughterhouse Five (Vonnegut) remake and a film adaptation of horror master, H.P. Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness.
The latter is one of the primary components in the Cthulhu Mythos, which has been made into one of the most popular and longest-standing tabletop RPGs on the market since the 1980s, Call of Cthulhu.
Del Toro has mentioned wanting to do more Hellboy sequels.
