Talisman Coming to Comics

Stephen King and Peter Straub released Talisman - the novel about a dimension-traveling boy trying to save his mom's life - in 1984. In 2002, they regrouped for the sequel, Black House. Both were bestsellers and Talisman is widely-regarded as a classic.

Del Rey has announced the acquisition of the sequential art rights for the project (both graphic novel and comic book). While no creative team has been announced yet, the first installment of whatever is to come is expected in Fall, 2009. A spokesperson said there will be at least 24 issues.

Further, television rights are under development by Stephen Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy.
