Inside South Park

It's no secret The Weirding is a huge fan of South Park, so we are apt to extol its excellence, but we are obviously biased. The critics, however, seem to agree; did you know South Park has been nominated for an Oscar? It was also nominated for seven Emmys and won two - along with a GLAAD Award, an NAACP Image Award, a CableACE, a Peabody... just to name a few! Not too shabby for a show that's done in only six days and arrives at Comedy Central about an hour and a half before it premieres!

South Park is a pop-culture landmark, alongside The Simpsons and Family Guy (the former of which they lauded in the episode The Simpsons Already Did It; they lashed-out at Family Guy in the Cartoon Wars series) - that is going into its 13th season, and has already been renewed for seven more. Seeing as how South Park got its start online, it was only fitting that South Park Studios became one of the first (and few) sites to offer their entire catalogue online for free.

I found this great feature on Matt and Trey, detailing the entire process behind getting a South Park episode to air. And someone over to MSN suggested American Idol have a South Park night.

Pretty good stuff.
