Somebody likes Phil Hale. Well, somebody else.

He has a single page, black & white story in an Epic that literally changed my world! I'm not sure if it's legal, but I'd love to share it with you. I'll look into it and see, because I'm going to scan it anyway (so I can print a copy for my fridge)! Phil Hale had three or four sequential pieces in that issue. I think he went on to do book covers - I mean, he did book covers, but I don't know if he published anymore sequential work or not.

Kent Williams debuted that same issue, with a tremendous mood-piece about a shaman and some gorgeous chick with humongous... personality. I think he did that one on his own, but he worked with Jon J. Muth a lot. Their styles were so similar, yet still distinct from one another...

That was the first Epic we ever got, and a friend and I bought the entire run (with several holes) at a con that year. That was our first con, too.

That was the best issue Epic ever did. That was such a great magazine...
