An early September Los Angeles art theft included 10+ pieces of American sports icons by Andy Warhol. The silkscreen prints, a Warhol specialty, were commissioned by the owner of the home in the 1970s. The value of the collection is estimated at several million dollars.
Police say the house "was not ransacked" and the sports collection appears to have been the specific target of the theft. Further, there are no signs of forced entry. A $1 million reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of the Warhol silkscreen prints of 1970s American sports icons.
