Comedienne, talk show host, and entertainer, Ellen Degeneres, has been named as the fourth judge on this season's American Idol. Degeneres, better known simply as "Ellen," is replacing Paula Abdul, who had been with the show from the beginning and "tweeted" her decision to leave the show earlier this year.
Degeneres will join the panel following the auditions. Several celebrities will fill the fourth judge's chair in the meantime, including Victoria Beckham and Shania Twain.
