A 16-year old Indiana boy shot and killed his 13-year old friend over a dispute involving turn-of-the-century dime novels. Apparently, both boys are big readers of pulp fiction from the era - though details are sketchy. Dime novel pulps from names such as Chandler and Lovecraft can fetch hundreds, even thousands, of dollars at auction, and are often sought after by readers and collectors alike.
The alleged murderer is thought to have escaped to Kentucky, where they do not read.
