Police are investigating an incident in which a Bronx police placard was displayed from the back of comedian and TV star, Jerry Seinfeld's, car. According to Seinfeld's spokesperson, his chauffeur, a former police officer, feared for the star's safety when they arrived at the set for a taping of Jerry Seinfeld's new show and found a crowd waiting. He displayed the placard briefly as he escorted the comedian onto the set.
Bronx police say their records indicate the placard was returned in 2007 and an investigation is pending. Jerry Seinfeld said, by way of his spokesperson, that he accepted full responsibility for the incident and the chauffeur will not be fired, even if the matter is determined to have been his indiscretion.
