Bettie Page: FBI Informant

In 1957, the FBI consulted notorious pin-up model, Bettie Page, regarding a stash of pornography they seized at a Harlem apartment. Items included pictures of Page, a leather whip, riding crop, chains, and more. The FBI wanted to know if the apartment was a place where such "obscene" pictures were made.

Bettie Page told the FBI she had never heard of "bondage and flagellation" pictures being made in Harlem, and that all the pictures she had done were either in photography studios or photographers' homes.

The Smoking Gun made a Freedom of Information Act regarding the late model. Bettie Page died in 2008.

Thought you'd like to know: TheSmokingGun.com thought Bettie Page was irrelevant until Mark Mori, Producer/Director of Bettie's authorized documentary ("Bettie Page Reveals All"), sent a Freedom of Information request. Check out Mori's press release:

Thanks, Patti! I am no fan of TSG, but I certainly find anything about Bettie Page interesting. Thanks again!
