Sir Paul McCartney is 68
I apologize for the late-night post, but I just learned that Sir Paul McCartney (that's right, he was knighted in 1996) turns 68 today! Though The Beatles were an English band, "Beatlemania" swept the U.S. in 1964 the way it had the U.K. a year earlier. With historic appearances on TV, including The Ed Sullivan Show, The Beatles cemented their position in pop-culture and music history.
