The coroner who examined Ted Koppel's son says Andrew Koppel died from acute intoxication, due to a fatal combination of drugs and alcohol, including heroin, Valium, cocaine, and Levamisole, a drug used to cut other drugs to weaken their effects and generate more product.
Andrew Koppel spent May 31st bar-hopping with someone he met the same day. He was dropped-off at a friend's apartment to "sleep it off." The friends say they checked on him once and heard him snoring, but when they tried to awaken him later, he was unresponsive. Medics estimate Andrew Koppel had been dead about four hours before he was discovered.
