WB Japan announced yesterday that Madhouse, the studio behind such anime hits as Death Note and Vampire Hunter D, is helming an anime version of the CW hit, Supernatural. While there is no news on an American dub, the first DVD will hit shelves in Japan in January, 2011. In all, there will be 22 episodes on three discs, released independently of one another.
The series will reprise many of the early episodes from the first two seasons, as well as introduce new stories and villains expressly for the anime show.
