Farrah Fawcett's famous red swimsuit, worn in the 1976 poster that shot her to superstardom, was donated to the Smithsonian. The museum will feature a pop-culture memorabilia display over the summer in which the swimsuit will be included, along with a Farrah Fawcett doll and a collection of Charlie's Angels first-season scripts.
The 1976 poster is the best-selling of all-time, and became iconic of 1970's American pop-culture. The memorabilia was presented to the Smithsonian by Fawcett's surviving family, including Ryan O'Neal and the couple's son. Fawcett herself died in 2009 after an extensive fight with cancer.
