SyFy has decided to cancel Eureka, even though it originally announced it had renewed the series for a sixth season. In a statement, the SyFy Channel noted that Eureka would end its fifth season with 12 more episodes and a Christmas special, calling the 2012 episodes "some of the best we've seen."
In the same statement, SyFy called it a "business decision," but the cancellation of Eureka comes on the heels of casting news that includes Wil Wheaton, Felicia Day, and the voice of Jim Parsons. Maybe there is hope that Eureka will return for a sixth season after all.
