Steven Tyler has announced that he will not return for another season as judge for American Idol. He is returning to his band, Aerosmith. The decision to do American Idol had caused a rift in his band, as seen on an ABC special in which Tyler was interviewed. The news comes as questions continue over whether or not Jennifer Lopez will return as judge.
Ratings for what was once America's top show have continued to decline since the departure of Simon Cowell two years ago. Cowell went on to another talent show, X Factor. Both shows air on Fox. Aeromsith has an album due out in the fall.
