I have been accused of being a "purist" on many grounds - gaming, music, just in general - but I have to admit that I like the simplicity of certain things. I liked that I was able to simply pick up a set of drumsticks and start pounding on basically any surface. Sure, setting up a trapkit is a major issue but I never had to deal with pedals and boxes and amplifiers and a thousand cords and strings! I would not know what makes a good di box or how to set one. But then I do not know how to use "triggers" on a drum set nor what they are even supposed to be used for. So maybe I am a "purist" but it suits me.
