Marky Mark to Play Six Billion Dollar Man

The Six Million Dollar Man

Mark Wahlberg is set to star in The Six Billion Dollar Man, a movie based on the TV series The Six Million Dollar Man which starred Lee Majors. Peter Berg (Wes Craven's Shocker) is set to direct the film for Dimension Films. Both projects are based on the 1972 bestseller, Cyborg by Martin Caidin.

The basic plot concerns former astronaut, Steve Austin, who is given bionic arms and legs following the crash of an experimental airplane. This makes him the perfect candidate for a position in the Office of Scientific Intelligence. The best known episode from the TV series featured a fight between Austin and Bigfoot, which was mocked by [Adult Swim]'s The Venture Brothers.

The Six Billion Dollar Man is set for wide-release in 2016.
