Family Guy Spin-Off in Works

Rumor has it FOX has a show in the works entitled Cleveland. But this is not about the city; Cleveland is a spin-off from Family Guy, featuring Peter Griffin's black neighbor.

Canceled in 2003, Family Guy was revived in 2005 after phenomenal ratings on cable's Adult Swim network. Since its return, Family Guy has gone on to become FOX' #1-rated show, as well as a $1 billion franchise. Often irreverent to the point of offensiveness, Family Guy has been hit with at least two lawsuits, including one brought by Carol Burnett (which was dismissed), but its popularity continues to grow.

Cleveland is the Griffin's "token" black neighbor and the only black character featured on the show, since his wife left him after sleeping with his best friend, sex maniac, Glenn Quagmire. The spin-off is still in the pre-production phases and is being written and overseen by Family Guy and American Dad creator, Seth McFarlane, Family Guy writer, Mike Henry (who voices Cleveland), and American Dad executive producer, Rich Appel.

In addition to Cleveland, which has yet to receive the greenlight, FOX is also working on a spin-off of hit show, Prison Break, featuring female prisoners. They have several animated shows in development, as well as a sci-fi series from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel creator, Joss Whedon, featuring Eliza Dushku.

Eliza Dushku is fine as hell. That's... just putting that out there.

It's amazing what some people find offensive and it's usually only a minority. I'll keep an eye out for Cleveland to check it out. What number do I ring if I get offended?

I have a whole list of articles I need to get to - I've been feeling so bad the past couple weeks that I have just been bookmarking them and I really need to write the posts now - about the FCC fining the shit out of every station on the low dial for offenses dating back to like 2003 and shit!

Really ridiculous.
