Actor, Roy Scheider, died Sunday in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was 75 years old.
Twice nominated for an Oscar (for his work in The French Connection and All That Jazz), Scheider is best known as Chief Brody from the blockbuster Spielberg flick, Jaws. Scheider reprised his role in the sequel. By the mid-1980s, his fame had waned. Though he had a role in the popular TV program, SeaQuest DSV, the show was short-lived. He made a number of appearances in lesser films but never regained the popularity he held in the '70s.
Roy Scheider had been fighting multiple myeloma for the past few years - a cancer of the blood. The specific cause of death was not immediately released.
