Brittany Murphy, starlet of such features as Clueless, 8 Mile and Sin City, as well as the animated family show, King of the Hill, was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Reports say she was found in full cardiac arrest after EMT arrived at her home, following a call from her screenwriter husband. A handful of reports say her mother found her unconscious in the shower; the story is developing.
Many commenters have hinted at a possible cocaine habit.

A preliminary autopsy - which her husband was said not to have wanted - shows that Murphy likely died from "natural causes." However, Brittany Murphy was said to have been suffering from "flu-like" symptoms and a cache of prescription drugs were found at her home.
According to some reports, those which claim the actress was found in her shower by her mother, numerous prescription drugs were found at/around the site at which the body was discovered.
Withdrawal from many prescription painkillers results in "flu-like symptoms."
