Image's 24Seven Gets Behance Nom Nod

Now I know Image has been around for over a decade now, but old-hands like myself can't help but still think of it as "The Little Upstart What Did." I mean, it wasn't just another independent press or imprint; Image was developed specifically to widen the mainstream market into The Big Three (along with Marvel and their Direct Competition) - and it has done exactly that! Image now has a ton of great titles, most of which are creator-owned, and is racking-up awards and award-winning creators. This is an official Image Comics press release:

24SEVEN DESIGNED FOR NOMINATION!
24SEVEN Vol. 2 up for Behance Graphic Design Award!

November 6th, 2007 (Berkeley, CA) - Tom Muller, the designer behind this year's critically acclaimed robot-centric anthology 24SEVEN VOL. 2, has been nominated for Behance's Graphic Design BeContest Award.

24Seven editor Ivan Brandon said, "I've wanted to work with Tom for a long time now, and when 24Seven Vol. 2 rolled around our cover artist, Ashley Wood, mentioned we should bring him on board. Tom was excited by the prospect and the results were gorgeous. This nomination is a testament to just why Ashley and I were so eager to work with him."

The Behance Network is the premiere platform for graphic designers and artists to share portfolios, track projects and create collaborations. Their BeContest award will provide the winner with both a $1,000 cash prize and the and much valued exposure through the network. In addition, their work is seen by a panel of judges which includes representatives from Miramix, thehappycorp global, Red Antler, Anomaly and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, among others. While these judges will determine the grand prize winner, fans are able to vote for which designers make the finals. Votes for 24SEVEN VOL. 2 can be submitted here.

24Seven Vol. 2 (JUN071889), a 200-page full color anthology for $19.99, is available for reorder. More information on the BeHance BeContest can be found here. The first volume (MAY061717), a 224-page full color anthology for $24.99, is also available.
