Dark Knight Dedicated to Ledger, Wickliffe

The Batman Begins sequel to be released July 18th will be dedicated to the two men who died during its filming.

Conway Wickliffe is the name of the SFX technician who died during a stunt gone wrong during filming. And, of course, Heath Ledger was found dead of a prescription drug overdose after filming was completed.

According to a Warner Brothers press release, a four-line dedication to the two men runs immediately following the main credits.

Star of The Dark Knight, Christian Bale, has said he would love to reprise his role as Batman in a third flick - but only if director, Christopher Nolan is involved. He spoke highly of his co-star in a recent Entertainment Weekly interview.

Some other highlights of The Dark Knight:
  • It is the first major motion picture to have scenes filmed in IMAX
  • Bruce Wayne's wardrobe was "handmade" by Giorgio Armani
  • The Batmobile was created and manufactured by Lamborghini
