According to her publicist, Ms. Applegate was diagnosed with a "non-life-threatening" form of breast cancer and is following the prescribed regimen. She is expected to recover fully.
Applegate recently received noms for both a Golden Globe and Emmy for her role as the title character in Samantha Who. Next month, Applegate will appear on a telethon for cancer to be simulcast on all three major networks. Also appearing will be Meryl Streep, Jennifer Aniston, and Charlize Theron.
Christina Applegate won an Emmy for her guest-appearance as Aniston's sister on the long-running sit-com, Friends.
