Newman was the force behind such legendary movies as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, Cool Hand Luke, and The Color of Money. He appeared in nearly 60 films and was nominated for an Academy Award 10 times (before winning in 1987).
He retired from acting in 2007.
