When Jefferson Gray bought the house in Cleveland, he had no idea of its significance. Yet, in 1986, 10622 Kimberly Ave. was declared a landmark because it is the house in which creator Jerry Siegel dreamed-up none other than comic book icon, Superman.
Now, 10622 Kimberly Ave. is falling apart and a group of sequential artists, writers, and fans have come together to try and save it. By offering original artwork and other products and services through an online auction, they hope to raise the money needed to save the house, originally built in 1911.
In particular, Brad Meltzer is offering a cameo in his comic book, Powers and there is a walk-on role for the NBC TV show, Heroes. You can also purchase a limited edition T-shirt or make a donation. All of the proceeds go toward saving the home which current owners, the Grays, have agreed to sell to the Simon and Shuster Society when they decide to put it on the market.
