Tonight is The Stand Midnight Opening!

That's right, True Believers: tonight is the night when comic stores across the nation open their doors at 12:00am, Midnight, and start selling the Midnight Variant Cover Edition of Stephen King's The Stand. I am certain many of you are watching Fringe, just waiting for it to end so you can flip-over to catch the replay of Eureka and head-out to your local comic book store to catch the midnight opening. Nerds!

Marvel is proud unveil the complete list of retailers participating in the landmark midnight opening to commemorate the release of THE STAND: CAPTAIN TRIPS #1. Click over to see which retailers are hosting this event at their stores, beginning the next epic comic book series from Stephen King and Marvel Comics!

Acclaimed writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Secret Invasion: Fantastic Four, Angel Revelations) brings the first of several limited series to life this month in THE STAND: CAPTAIN TRIPS #1 (of 5)! The Stand, which is commonly deemed as King's most popular novel, is a story of Biblical proportions; after a government-made virus mows down majority of the human race, the few survivors must band together in order to survive. With visually stunning interiors from Eisner-nominated artist, Mike Perkins (Captain America, House of M: Avengers), the human race is going make their last stand! Plus, a mind blowing, sketch variant from acclaimed artist Lee Bermejo and the first of five connecting variant covers from Perkins!
