James Spears has been made permanent executor of Britney Spear's estate.
Following her admittance to a psych ward earlier this year, James Spears was granted control over his daughter's finances. The deal was set to expire on December 31st, but a judge has made the arrangement permanent. Britney had the agreement explained to her and chose not to oppose it at this time; she may later petition the court, if she wishes.
Britney Spears has been on the road to recovery, having lost the weight she was so heavily criticized for in the press, making a good showing on the last MTV Awards show, and releasing a new hit single, Womanizer.
Some speculate her decision not to oppose the ruling has to do with pending litigation against the pop star. For now, at least two trials involving Britney Spears have been postponed or dropped.
